If you found a piece of paper, what writing on it would convince you it was dropped by a time traveler?

@liw@toot.liw.fi nothing i can think of right now would immediately convince me in the same moment of picking up the piece of paper. i would probably think someone very imaginative wrote whatever it was and play it down.

maybe
maybe there are a few things like predictions about the future that after some time if they come true would convince me.

@liw

Strong predictions for the future, that come to pass and weird carbon 14 signatures.

I think the isotope dating is probably the stronger evidence, but wouldn't think of it without something to flag the paper as being odd.

@liw "It all started when Lars found this piece of paper."

@liw We are all time travelers. I wrote this in the past.

@liw
The newspaper headline for a week from now, and for it to turn out to be correct.

@liw Predict some stock prices. Or predict some surprising news headlines.

@liw hash of a commit of a photo of the piece of paper

@liw for various reasons this is actually the NIST standard for communicating the existence of time travel. In this essay I will

@joeyh @liw "What time is it, Eccles?" "Just a minute. I've got it written down on a piece of paper. A kind man wrote it down for me this morning. It says here that it's eight o'clock."
