Propaganda, censorship, manipulation and surveillance are all inherent attributes of information monopoly
(Pieces of this realisation predate my essay, notably by Shoshana Zuboff (dating to the 1980s), Tim Wu, Bruce Schneier, Cory Doctorow. I'm not aware of anyone putting the full set together, yet.)
@liw Decentralized systems, on the other hand, are often superior, because they are more resilient and self-organizing.
And they resemble *nature*, so systems will inevitably become decentralized.
