Signs of getting old, part 12765: I used to do "git init" as soon as I got an idea for a new project. These days I start outlining an architecture document instead.

@liw But how do you version the architecture document? 😀

@clacke The first draft of the outline goes into my (private) journal, which is in git already. And rendered by ikiwiki to a protected website.

@liw saaaaaaaame

Although to be fair my first move is usually to start drafting that architecture document as a README.md / README.org in the root of a new directory. Not _too_ far off the previous workflow.

what? where do you store the architecture document, if not in a git repo? :-)

@liw but where do you keep that document?!

@Greg In my jounal, which is already in git. And ikiwiki, so there's tagging.
